The Mask

My niece Terrie has been attending playgroup since Jan this year. She has been taking home her art pieces almost every day. Here's one. J calls it his mask. I call it "The Mask". Ho ho ho...

Bay's Britax Car Seat

Realised I haven't taken photos of Junior in his car seat. Here are a few. This car seat is expensive, by my standard, but definitely well worth the money. It has kept Bay safe in the car since he was born. Wow!

Baby's First Travel Experience -- The (Gory) Details

As I was saying, Junior didn't seem too sick when we took him out in the morning to collect our passports, all the way till noon when we started to drive north. He fell asleep soon after he finished his milk in the car. When we went into JB, he finally woke up but alas, only 1 of his eye could open. His left eye was so full of sticky green discharge that it was momentarily rendered 'helpless'! Pained me to see him struggled to open that eye. Boo hoo... Despite this episode and a fever that kept coming and going, J was in good spirits.

We were lost for a while as our friends overshot and missed a left turn that would have led us to the resort. When we finally got there, thank God there was still time for us to stroll in the resort and have a hearty late lunch and sumptuous bbq buffet for dinner.

We were of course not able to swim since Junior couldn't join us. The little nightmare started in the night. Junior was as usual struggling big time having to take so much medicine -- 4 types in all -- paracetamol, rhinathiol, inhaler, iliadin. After he went to sleep, his temperature started to increase. He woke up and wailed for dear life. As I carried him up, he gave me this sad and helpless look that seemed to say, "Mummy, thanks for carrying me." Immediately, I started to tear. But I told myself my baby needed me and I continued rocking him and settled him with paracetamol. Thank God he went back to zz. The waking up and wailing ritual repeated for a couple more times through the night, I was ready to pack and go home the next day.

The next morning, miraculously he seemed to be much better. However, by then he had so much phlegm he was merlioning half of all his feeds the whole day. Nevertheless, we decided to stay on since he seemed better and it wasn't so nice to leave our friends and go home earlier. The same ritual happened the 2nd night. Finally, the day arrived when we were to go home. When we reached Singapore, we immediately took him to the pd and got him more medicine and started him on Augmentin (antibiotics).

And this was the little drama that happened for dear baby's first trip overseas.

Baby's First Travel Experience

I can't say it's his best experience. He was sick by the time we were set to go to JB. However, it didn't seem like a serious illness and we thought we could manage. Here's how Junior looked when he first sat in the sofa in the hotel suite. He seemed to know he was out to 'gai gai' with his parents and was extremely excited when we put him in the hotel bed. He thumped the bed so vigorously with his feet and we were so tickled I forgot to take a photo of how exhilarated he looked.

Baby Sick Again?!

Boo hoo... He's sick again. Heard him cough a couple of times. Worried. We're going JB this weekend. He can't fall sick. Mustn't! Started him on the inhaler. Hope it helps. No joke having a sick baby once a month for since the beginning of this year.

He Sits in the Rocker Too

Affirmation: Baby is beginning to support himself wherever he sits. Hmm... He's also beginning to look more like his dad, somehow...

The Gazing Baby

Not just is this my birth month. It's also Bay's milestone month. Today, another milestone is observed. When I cradle and sing to baby, he responds by gazing at me with his beady eyes. Never had he done this before in the so many other times I sang to him. That's not all. When he looks at me, I could feel his baby love and admiration for his mummy oozing. Thank God for this little bundle of joy who's no longer a stranger who have leeched on me for 9 months but is now truly showing his mum how much joy he's capable of giving us.

Milestone Month - The Sitting Baby

Junior can now sit propped up against some seats or pillows that lend support to him and his bum bum. There!

Classic Baby Photos - 'Charting' Your Growth

Baby four months ago and baby now.... Fewer lotus roots? Berry said these 2 pics are classic baby looks and so I decided to put them together for comparison.

Milestone Month

M=May, M=Milestone

The old folks have this saying about babies - 7 months learn to sit, 8 months learn to crawl, 9 months will grow teeth. Baby is turning 7 months old and he's doing all sorts of things to practise sitting.

We're Going Travelling!

I haven't quite explained why I'm taking passport photos for Bay. Nope. I'm not one of those mums who just want to spend $70 to make a passport for baby for fun. We're going travelling!

Going to drive to JB - Pulai Springs Resort. Maybe we are too adventurous. This would be a couple of firsts. Baby's first trip overseas. His parents' first attempt to drive to M'sia. But I have faith in my friends who'll be taking us there. They should know their way. =)

The Talking Baby

Ba ba ba ba... This is baby's first audible word. Actually there was something else he blabbered before today. "deh deh deh deh..." Not sure where he got this from but I really think "ba" is the first syllable that Junior is capable of.

On hindsight, I believe he's calling our Abba Father. Baby confirmed my belief. He went on to call "ah ba, ah ba". After all, He is his creator. He knows Junior even before J's parents. He knew him when he was in his mother's womb. Try convincing me J's calling his daddy. hur hur hur...

He Finally Turned!

After a few months' wait, Bay can finally turn onto his tummy by himself without external help. His newfound skill not only kept him entertained, it kept us busy but glad that one major milestone is reached!

The Naked Baby

I'd been wanting to take a photo of Junior in the buff, sitting on my bed but he hasn't quite learnt to sit on his own without any support yet. But today, I found I could still have one such photo but in a different place -- his bath tub. Ok... Why am I so obsessed with this? Long long ago, in those olden days when we were still young, the baby boys would usually have one such photo taken. I want to perpetuate this tradition. heh heh heh...
